- ARIAKE × WINDSCAPE -
[About ARTBAY ILLUMINATION]
This illumination event is held in cooperation with Illumination Island Odaiba as part of ARTBAY TOKYO , a project that connects people and places with various arts in the Tokyo Waterfront City
CONCEPT
"ARTBAY ILLUMINATION 2024 -ARIAKE × WINDSCAPE-" is a light installation that allows you to freely wander through the light and wind.
In Ariake in winter, about 300 "Kaze no Ho", which are flashed by wind, are arranged in a grid. The night view of the city is likened to a rural landscape, and the wind that drives through the coastal subcenter is visualized. We hope you will enjoy the combination of light and wind that makes use of the power of wind, and brings comfort and nostalgic yet new.
DETAILS
○ "Kaze no Ho"
The innovative eco-friendly and sustainable lighting device is powered only by wind power without any power source required. This minimal design maximizes the use of wind power and brings out the beauty of light.
The cross-flow (windmill) is made of lightweight elastic polycarbonate and the unique motor structure captures even wind speed of 2 m/s converting wind power into electricity and producing fluctuating light movement.
○ A relaxing space
The venue features furniture that allows you to sit comfortably and look over the entire space.
There will also be a kitchen car featuring winter hot dishes available only on Fridays and Saturdays.
Please forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a quiet moment.

PROFILE
The lighting design for the PROFILE venue is done by two people, Satoshi Uchihara and Fuko Sasaki, from the Uchihara Creative Lighting Design inc.
They have been in charge of the lighting design for the Roppongi Hills Christmas Illumination and Grand Green Osaka, and are working on projects to revitalize the region from the urban landscape.
For this year's illumination, they created the "Kaze no Ho" lighting fixture that does not require electricity from the perspective of eco-friendliness and sustainability. Using natural energy, they create a nostalgic yet new light and wind installation.
